Lake Lindsay Mine Expansion involved the delivery of a new coal processing plant, coal handling facilities and overland conveyor as part of an expansion of Anglo Coal's German Creek mine located 290 kilometres south-west of Mackay.

The Expansion lifted its coal handling and processing capability from 11 million to 16 million tonnes per annum

The project included an 800 tonne per hour coal preparation plant and a 21-kilometre long single flight belt conveyor, the second longest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.

Project Control provided Cost and Planning assistance from Feasibility Study thru to Project Completion.  Starting with detailed estimates from various companies in very different formats, we developed a full project estimate which enabled gap analysis, risk assessment, contingency, escalation in an easy to interrogate format.  This estimate was then used to obtain Board Approval and is now the basis of our baseline schedule.
